Courts Café, Hyde Park – A New Spot for Sport & Socialising

Located in the heart of Hyde Park, the new Courts Café for Colicci brings together sport and social at their latest expansion.

Already well established across Hyde Park with a collection of successful cafés and kiosks, Courts Café marks an exciting expansion for the brand, perfect for the park’s growing tennis and padel community.

Our team at Carter Newlove Interiors were appointed to deliver the full fit-out of the new café and kiosk space within London’s most iconic park.

Stepping Into Colicci’s Café

As you enter the café, to your left, you’re welcomed by the main service counter, finished in green glazed fluted wall tiles, paired with a striking worktop that features a polished, marble-effect surface for a clean, contemporary contrast.

Above the counter sits a glass display unit with oak edging, designed to showcase the delicious baked goods.

Overhead, a bespoke bulkhead screen has been manufactured and installed in oak veneer, detailed with rattan cane webbing in a radio weave pattern – adding natural materials to the space.

Other bespoke elements have also been introduced throughout the café to support both the flow and overall design of the space, including a custom island display unit, chilled display unit, and integrated waste bin.

The perfect spot for padel and tennis players

To the right of the space, a retail and kiosk area has been introduced.

Oak detailing and soft curved joinery have been manufactured with integrated display and shelving that make it easy to showcase racquets, bags, balls, and other tennis and padel essentials.

Crafting the booth and banquette seating for Colicci

At the rear of the space, we introduced bespoke banquette seating, making the most of the café layout, upholstered in a rich blue leather that adds comfort and a bold pop of colour.

Above the seating, a metal ring screen creates a subtle division between the banquette area and the booth seating opposite, while keeping the space feeling open.

Facing the banquettes, bespoke tables with curved tops have been introduced, finished in oak veneer with solid walnut edging, tying in with the other curved features used throughout the café.

The booth seating has been designed in line with the banquette seating, helping to create a consistent look and feel throughout the café. The back pads have been upholstered in a soft hemp fabric in a lighter blue tone, creating a subtle contrast against the richer blue seat pads, while pairing well with the oak detailing throughout the space.
