Step Inside Burro, Covent Garden’s New Italian Spot in Floral Court
We’ve stepped into Covent Garden’s newest Italian spot, tucked away in Floral Court.
Owner Conor Gadd is also co-owner of Trullo over in Islington, but Burro marks his first solo venture, so it was a real honour for our team to be part of this new chapter.
The interior, designed by Day Studio, draws on Conor’s Irish heritage, incorporating influences from an Irish country house kitchen and a 1950s Italian bistro, to create a refined yet relaxed feel. The colour palette was kept simple, with soft, faded reds and yellows running throughout.

A Luxurious Bar at the Heart of the Space
Bars are often the heart of any hospitality project, so discovering the bar at this new restaurant would be a statement piece, was a real highlight for our team.
The bar features a Rosso Levanto marble top, a rich burgundy-plum colour with subtle white and green veining, a very luxurious choice! Underneath, tucked behind the leather stools, the front panelling has a subtle mosaic tile that adds a bit of texture.
The back bar was manufactured from solid oak, and just above, you’ll find some beautiful antique mirrors, carefully set within the back bar framework.

A Closer Look at the Restaurant
Stepping inside, the high ceilings and generous layout give the space a bright, airy feel that instantly welcomes you.
As you move towards the dining areas, you’ll find plenty of banquette seating, all manufactured from a solid oak framework and upholstered in a check velvet fabric, making the space feel cosier and a touch more stylish.

The bar table, designed to offer a more relaxed seating area with views out to the courtyard, was crafted by our team with bespoke metalwork. There’s also a wide range of joinery throughout the space, including waiter stations and a bespoke coat unit that helps with the overall functionality and flow of the restaurant.
The lighting has been carefully considered to create an intimate atmosphere, giving the space a sense of warmth while still feeling refined and exclusive.

Head downstairs and you’ll find the toilets – low-lit and moody, feeling a world away from the main dining area (the wine cellar may also catch your eye on the way down!).
Throughout the restaurant, curtain partitions have been introduced to subtly divide the space. These heavy drapes help break up the layout while softening the overall feel.

Collaborating with Burro and Day Studio
Collaborating with Conor and the Burro team was an absolute pleasure, and we’re thrilled that they love the space as much as we do! We wish them every success – there’s no doubt it will be a favourite with everyone who visits.
And another huge thank you to Lisa Helmanis from Day Studio, whose design vision so beautifully shaped the space. It was a real joy working with you.
Make sure to drop by Burro in Floral Court – it’s worth a visit!
